Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox's parents include Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox won a scholarship award to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. Lennox was able to live with the stipend she received from her students as she worked part-time. Lennox decided to change her profession after she became dissatisfied by her inexperience in contrast to other Royal Academy students. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. The group didn't appear on the talent contest New Faces on I.T.V. From 1977 until 1980, she was the main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop group. It was here that she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed the duo Eurythmics. After that, Lennox started working on her first solo album Diva which came out in 1992. The album garnered a lot of praise, both by critics as well as the general public. Nostalgia Lennox's 6th solo album was released in November 2014. The C.D. Lennox chose her favorite soul jazz blues tracks from the time of her childhood. Lepidoptera is a collection of four tracks that she improvised for piano, which Lennox released in May, 2019. The E.P. This album is a companion piece to her Now I let the door open... art installation which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her first self-released album. Annie Lennox is a Scottish artist and singer born on December 25, 1954. The Tourists had a minor popularity in the latter part of the 1970s. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, proceeded to gain international recognition in the 1980s with the Eurythmics. Lennox debuted her solo music career in 1992, through an album titled Diva. It featured many famous songs like the hit song Walking On Broken Glass and Why. Medusa the album she released in 1995 contains cover versions of songs including No MoreI Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. She has six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album to her credit. |
